When are the auditions?

We are continuing to hold auditions in many cities throughout the country. Now that the show is open, we are always looking for boys as future "Billys" and "Michaels". Please look at the area called LOCATIONS with audition dates and locations. Back to Top

What will I have to do in the audition?

You will be asked to learn different dance combinations. You might learn ballet, tap or a funky street dance.
You may also be asked to sing.
We'll have a pianist there to play with you. Because both Billy and Michael are 11 years old, the voices for the boys will need to be unbroken voices.

Sometimes we ask kids to show us their own favorite style of dance. That's when you can show us all your favorite steps, and things that you're good at. Back to Top

What should I bring to the audition?

When attending and audition, please bring:
*A picture and resume or recent photo
*Boys should wear comfortable clothes, not dance tights, and bring sneakers, tap, jazz and ballet shoes
*Bring lots to drink and a snack. You may be there for a few hours. Back to Top

What are you looking for?

For Billy, we are looking for boys with strong ballet technique and a passion for dance. Singing and tap are helpful. For Michael, Billy's free-spirited best friend, we are seeking natural actors with a strong singing voice and a flair for comedy. Potential for tap. All boys should be between the ages of 9 and 12 with an unbroken voice and a maximum height of 4?10?. We encourage boys of all races, cultural and ethnic backgrounds to audition.

What do I include on my audition video?

At the start of your video, please say your name and spell it out.
When making your audition video for the role of Billy, please include footage of you dancing.
Show us your favorite style and what you think you're best at!
Also, for Billy, please include pirouettes and your favorite jumps.
If you can tap, please include that as well.
If you can sing, please sing a song of your choice, or "Electricity" from "Billy Elliot, the musical". (Music is available on iTunes, in stores or online).

To audition for Michael, please sing a song of your choice, or "Expressing Yourself" from "Billy Elliot, the musical". (Music is available on iTunes, in stores or online).
Please tell a funny story or joke.
